Properties and Determination of Urinary Proteose from Patients with Proteinuria

Abstract
Some properties of urinary proteose excreted concomitantly with proteinuria have been investigated, and a method for, its determination has been presented which is based on its solubility and color reaction with biuret reagent.
Using this method acute glomerulonephritis and pyelonephritis were found to excrete more than 154mg% of urinary proteose, congestive heart failure 27 to 118mg%, and nephrotic syndrome 27 to 77mg%. Thus, it was found that diseases other than glomerulonephritis excreted urinary proteose though less in amount.
